Julia Anne Holt passes away at 83

Julia Anne Holt passed away on Friday, May 30, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center while surrounded by her family and friends.The family will receive friends at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel on Friendly Ave. in Greensboro on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point. A reception to celebrate her life will be at Pennybyrn at Maryfield, immediately following the mass. All are welcome to attend and share memories.

Julia Anne was born in Greensboro to Ferdinand and Anna Ogletree. She was well known for her accomplishments in tournament tennis and was inducted into the N.C. Tennis Hall of Fame in 1980. She had a tenacious and competitive spirit, both on and off the court. She was well-known for her caring, her compassion, and her giving spirit as she cared for her patients as a private duty registered nurse.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James R. Holt; daughter, Theresa Holt Lintz and husband Eric of Bryant, AR; son, Steve Holt; grandchildren, Christopher Jessup of Thomasville, Andrew Lintz of Greensboro, and Anna Lintz of Bryant, AR; and two great-granddaughters; and her beloved shih tzu "Dee Dee." She was, and is, loved by all.
