Again, 2007 has been a very successful year for the Queen City Tennis League. We’re continuing to grow and have added several new leagues. We now have a Summer Weekend Ladies League, in addition to the Summer Weekday League, as well as a Polar Bear League. We currently have 37 clubs participating, fielding well over 200 teams! We’d like to thank several of our board members who will be leaving the board at the end of 2007. They are Pam Olsen - Mixed Doubles Commissioner, Fran McKinney – Special Events Coordinator, and myself, Kathy Golder, President. All of us have enjoyed our time serving on the board and we leave it in good hands with the remaining and new board members who will be taking our positions. The new board members are: Pam Furr – Special Events Coordinator, Debbie Bazen – Mixed Doubles Commissioner, Paris Loesch – Secretary, and Karen Summers – Summer Weekday/Polar Bear Commissioner. Pat Dries will move from Secretarial duties to Vice President and Melony Bailey will move from VP to Special Events Coordinator. Queen City will again be hosting the annual Queen City Tournament. It was a huge success this past year and we can only assume that it will continue to grow! On behalf of the board, we would like to wish everyone a very safe and healthy 2008! |
