70's Events
70's Invitational - Elon - April 14-16, 2026
​​A competitive and social tennis event for our 70 & Over players. This is a team event, but players sign up individually. USTA membership is not required, although USTA members receive a discounted rate.
Format:
Co-ed team event. Each team will have a mix of NTRP ratings, evenly distributed among the teams. Round robin play each day. 2 men's doubles, 2 women's doubles and 2 "flex" (any gender) doubles courts for each team match. 8-game pro-sets with no-ad scoring. Format and/or scoring subject to change based on registrations.

When: Tuesday, April 14th in the evening. More info coming soon!
What: The Draft Party is held the night before matches begin, and is the perfect opportunity to meet your teammates, captain, and opponents! Enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres and while you socialize. USTA NC staff members will be there to welcome guests, go over all details for the tournament, and answer any questions.

Wednesday, April 15th: Matches will begin at 8 AM and hope to finish around 5 PM
Thursday, April 16th: Matches will begin at 8 AM and hope to finish around 4 PM

What is it:
Legends of the Court is a team tournament where you can sign up to be on a team with you and your friends.

If you would like to play but don't have people in mind to play with, let us know and we can try to place you on a team
Where:
This event will take place at Chapel Hill Tennis Club in Carrborro, NC.
Divisions Offered/Signing Up:
We will have divisions of 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 offered for Men's, Women's, and Mixed Doubles.

When you sign up, there will be a form asking additional questions. Be prepared to provide:

Who's team you will be on (or if you are looking for a team)

What division your team will compete in

How many people you plan to have on your team (it is okay if this is an estimate)

Match Format:
Each match will consist of a single 8 game pro set.

Substitutions are allowed at any point in the match provide the player subbing in registered and is on their team

Tiebreak will be played at 7-7
Team Size:
Men's/Women's Doubles- We recommend having at least 3 players on your team.

Minimum of 2 players

Maximum of 4 players
Mixed Doubles- We recommend having at least 4 players on your team (2 men, 2 women)

*These recommendations are made because players sometimes get hurt or can not play multiple matches in a day
*Teams should expect to play two matches a day (in their division) so please plan on having the amount of players needed for that
Tentative Schedule:
Men's/Women's Doubles- start Tuesday afternoon and finish around noon on Wednesday
Mixed Doubles- start Wednesday afternoon and finish Thursday morning
*If you play Men's/Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles, your team will be scheduled to play 4 matches that day (2 for Men's/Women's Doubles and then 2 for Mixed Doubles)
*Boxed Lunch will be provided for players on Wednesday
